Day 7: More writing and a food discovery

In spite of the mayhem over day 6's writing, nothing untoward occurred to day 7's. In fact, I totted up a good 1405 words.

It really is quite laughable how much my story has changed. In the first draft, the story ended with my protagonist essentially waking up from the dead. In the second draft, she merely falls asleep. My story is definitely ending up to be an awful lot longer than it was originally. There are still so many loose ends to tie up, even though I've already gone beyond my first draft's word count. Who knows, maybe what began as a novella will turn into a novel!

In other news, I discovered I like carrot cake (laughably trivial, I know). I've always hated it, second only to coconut-flavoured puddings. Its really quite strange because I love carrots and I love nuts and I love cake but I never liked carrot cake. I've taken to doing a lot of paelo/ keto baking though, and I ended up making this The Best Healthy Carrot Cake You'll Ever Eat (gluten free!) | Ambitious Kitchen cake (minus the frosting because I don't have any powdered splenda). It really is delicious, after all those years of hating it.

Maybe I just like keto carrot cake? Maybe I just don't like the cream cheese frosting?

Whatever it is, I would definitely recommend that recipe if you're a carrot-cake hater looking to be converted (if you're also a coconut hater, just use all almond flour or swap the coconut flour for walnut flour. You can pretty much leave out the dessicated coconut).

This isn't a food entry, but I think my recent discovery calls for one. I'm not so spectacular a baking that I can do a proper cake entry, but I do think that a look at some classic Victorian delicacies is in order.

Have you been baking anything? Having any food discoveries?

The Lady Of Letters: Anne Hall

There are times when I wish I lived in the nineteenth century. But, then, I wouldn't have computers. Then, I wouldn't have a blog. Would that have been a good thing? I hope not. Only these post will tell. And maybe, just maybe, my author bio.

I promise I'll put the first-class stamps on.
